Meet Our Intern

Natalie Willyerd, BSW, Social Work Intern

Welcome‒ I am so glad you’re here.

I believe therapy is a space where you can feel seen, heard, and met with compassion. My goal is to walk alongside you as you explore your experiences, and move toward healing, growth, and a deeper sense of freedom. I strive to offer a non-judgmental, empowering environment where you can show up just as you are.

My approach to therapy is grounded in trauma-informed care and a deep commitment to anti-oppressive practice. I believe that you are the expert of your own lived experiences. While some emotional pain stems from personal relationships, many wounds are shaped by systemic oppression‒ and I hold that reality with care. Together, we can work to create steadiness, peace, and hope‒ even throughout uncertainty.

I’m currently pursuing my Master of Social Work at the University of Michigan. I’m also a 200-hour certified yoga teacher, passionate about incorporating breathwork and somatic experiencing as tools in the healing process.

About Our Reduced-Rate Services:

The Center for EMDR and Trauma Therapy is committed to creating a way to support community members who may otherwise find it challenging to receive therapy services.

Whether it is because you do not have a healthcare plan that is able to be used or if out of pocket expenses are too high for your current circumstances, we can help with this by offering reduced-rate sessions with our highly skilled intern Beth. Beth is trained in EMDR and approaches all of her therapy sessions through a trauma-informed lens.

What You Should Know:

  • Sessions with our intern are set at a rate of $35/55 min

  • We do not require proof of income. Anyone who feels in need of these services is welcome to request a session

  • Internships only go for a set amount of time. We hope to bring on a new intern each year and current clients will have first choice on if they wish to continue on with a new intern. There may be a break in between when one intern ends and another one begins.
