Heidi Netherton, MA, LPC, NCC

Professional Counselor

(she/they)

My primary focus during our work together will be safety. It is my hope to cultivate a strong and trusting client/counselor relationship so that we can make as much progress together as possible. Often therapy can be emotionally taxing and uncomfortable. Sometimes things can feel worse before they get better as you grow insight into your thoughts and feelings. My goal for both of us will be to create a partnership that we can safely work together in. If at any time you have concerns about therapy or our relationship, I would want all my clients to feel comfortable addressing these concerns in session.

My goal as a counselor is to provide comprehensive and collaborative services to a diverse range of clients. I welcome the discussion of issues on varied experiences that may be specific to your racial and ethnic membership, gender identity, sexual orientation, social class, religious affiliation, nationality, and/or disability status. I will strive to offer an environment that is inclusive by providing a safe place to be heard, appreciated, and accepted.

I graduated from Eastern Michigan University with an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. During my degree, I sought additional training in Sexuality Counseling and Human Trafficking. I completed my internship at the Women’s Center of SE Michigan and gained experience working with the LGBTQ+ community and women with various concerns including anxiety and depression.

If you think we would be a good fit, please contact me! I look forward to working with you.
